No. As an Etiqa-approved panel workshop in Johor Bahru, we lodge the claim with Etiqa on your behalf when you bring the vehicle in — for both Etiqa Insurance and Etiqa Takaful covers. The only call you might want to make is to Etiqa Auto Assist (1-800-88-6491) if you need free towing under your policy. Or just call us and we’ll coordinate it.
From your perspective and our workshop’s perspective, no — the process is essentially the same. The underlying contract is different (conventional insurance vs Shariah-compliant takaful), and the paperwork form path differs, but vehicle in, claim lodged, repair done, vehicle out — identical experience. We handle both at our JB workshop.
If the other party was clearly at fault (proven by the police report), a Knock-for-Knock Own Damage Claim with Etiqa is usually the faster route. You pay your excess upfront, Etiqa pays us for the repair, then Etiqa recovers from the at-fault insurer. Crucially, your No Claim Discount (NCD) is preserved. We help you decide on intake at our Johor Bahru workshop.
It depends on the claim type. If you’re at fault and don’t have NCD Protection, your NCD will reset at renewal. If you’re not at fault and we lodge a Knock-for-Knock claim, your NCD stays intact. Add-on benefit claims (like windscreen) also don’t affect NCD.
The standard excess on most Etiqa Comprehensive policies is from RM 500. If the driver is under 21 and not the named insured, an additional RM 400 unnamed-driver excess applies. Some Etiqa plans waive excess entirely for drivers aged 21+. Check your policy schedule for the exact figure. You pay the excess on collection — we settle the rest with Etiqa.

Third Party policies don’t cover your own panel repair — only damage you caused to other parties. If the accident wasn’t your fault, we can help you claim from the at-fault party’s insurer (a third-party claim). Bring everything to us and we’ll work out the route.
